A Letter To September

hthrtjdyt

Dear September,

As I’m glancing at my calendar, I’m seeing a lot of exciting things coming up this month. I have high hopes for you. The first Primark is opening in America! Unfortunately it’s all the way in Boston so a road trip might be in order. The new library is opening too, which I can’t wait to visit. I have a growing list of books I want to read and I haven’t been to an actual library in so long. Reading books on an iPad just isn’t as enjoyable to me.

In the media and technology world, so many of my favorite shows return this month and the Emmy’s are on. BBC Radio 1 is having a different acoustic live performance every day. Apple is announcing a new iPhone this month as well as streaming the Apple Music Festival for free. New albums from some of my favorite artists are going to be released this month. Also, I’m going to the 5 Seconds of Summer concert.

In between applying for jobs and hopefully going on some weekend trips, I’m going to Disney World! It was a spontaneous decision but I couldn’t be more excited. I need my Disney fix and I’ve never been there when the Halloween-themed decorations are up.

I’m most likely going to sign up for my first Reddit gift exchange at the end of this month – which I’m sure is going to be an interesting experience all on it’s own and will definitely need to be blogged about.

One of the reasons I’m most excited for you is because the official first day of Autumn is soon. My favorite time of the year. Colorful, falling leaves; chilly weather; and constant smells of cinnamon and pumpkin spice. Also, it becomes SLIGHTLY more acceptable to begin playing Christmas music, right?

There are a lot of “maybes” this month. Fun things are happening that I hope I’ll have the time for. Landmark Festival is this month and also a charity walk for an animal shelter near me. In DC there’s a food truck festival and Life in Color. Ed Sheeran and Pentatonix are both touring this month, as well. Why am I just now discovering how incredible Pentatonix is? Someone should have told me!

All in all, there are so many opportunities and I’m looking forward to see what this month holds.

– Alex

  1. I just listened to Green Day this morning in honor of September setting in. I realize it says to sleep through the entire month, but still – it’s the underlying point. We heard a Pentatonix song on satellite radio yesterday – it’s like Glee! threw up and spit out a bunch of their songs. ugh.

  2. Wonderful post – I also love September…and while I don’t pretend to be gallivanting around doing the traveling you plan to do, I will look forward to the changing colors and a little bit cooler weather in my own backyard! Plus, September is the gateway to 2016, and I always prefer the even-numbered years. Enjoy your time! 🙂

  5. Hi! This is a beautiful post! We don’t have fall here… It just morphs from monsoon to winter. But, reading your post, I could imagine how nice it would be!
Thank you so much for liking my post, A journey begins. It means a lot to me, considering I’m very new to this blogging world.
