Music Discovery I

Since this blog is a conglomeration of everything I love, I felt it was necessary to include a music category. My iTunes library isn’t massive, but I do love finding new songs so I wanted to share some of my favorites with you each week – whether they be old or new. I’m going to include a lot of different genres, because I tend to listen to a little bit of everything. I can’t promise that there won’t be any boy bands thrown in the mix. Not sorry. Also, if you like any of these songs, leave a comment below! Or let me know of any recommendations you have.

Glowing – D.A.

I’m not sure why this song is first on the list but it’s the first one that came to mind. I heard it at the beginning of last year and immediately fell in love. It kind of gives off an old-school vibe.

Unsteady – X Ambassadors

A recent discovery. I guess I should give credit to my college roommate because she played it ALL THE TIME. Typically, the more I hear something, the more I like it… to an extent. Anyway, it’s my favorite song by them and I think it’s beautiful.

Lean On ft. MØ – Major Lazer & DJ Snake

Okay, this song is very different than the last two. I realize that this won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. In fact, I didn’t like it either at first. Yes, the beat kind of sounds like someone saying “bleh” over and over. But it’s so catchy. Give it a chance.

Dark Blue – Jack’s Mannequin

Let’s just have a brief throwback to my angsty 13-year-old middle school self. That’s all.

Candles – Hey Monday

Oops, another throwback. I love listening to songs that remind me of old times. I had heard of Hey Monday before and even watched them perform at Warped Tour but I didn’t really listen to a lot of their music until I saw Cassadee Pope on The Voice. #crushedit.
